I am told on amazon to check to see if my computer requires memory in identical pairs e.g. dual channel. How or where can i find this out.
Thanks

1> you need to know what motherboard you have
2>with that info you need to search internet using motherboard info to know what type of memory it can support. for eg
There are other website also that can give this info. This will give list on memory module / RAM that you can use on your motherboard.

There are two main types of memory used right now. There is standard DDR, and high performance DDR2 RAM. Almost all DDR2 RAM is dual channel. Some standard DDR is also dual channel, but not as common. Dual channel RAM does not cost much more than standard RAM, so if you bought dual channel RAM for your computer and didn’t need to, it would just operate as standard single channel RAM. If you have the know how, you can look up your computers’ specs to see what is actually has in there.
