March 2nd, 2009 | by computermemory |John asked:
Ok so basically I have very little memory on my C- Drive and I have a ton on my D-drive. Is it possible to transfer a few GB’s of memory from the D-drive to the C-drive?

On the computer, or physically?
I know this might sound like a dumb question…. thanks in advance.

you can use a program like Partition Magic to change your hard drive (repartition it)

If you C: and D: “partitions” are on the same drive, then you can use partition magic to move the free space around.
If we are actually talking about two separate Hard drives, then it is possible to use a mount point for one to the other.
If niether of these work for you, just start putting new stuff on your d: drive. Like downloads and new programs and such.

Not a dumb question at all…
Yes, you can move items from your C drive to your D drive. Don’t move programs (Word, Excel, etc). The computer won’t be able to find them. You can, however, move word documents, spreadsheets, music, pictures, and so forth.
You might want to consider compressing little used files. Just right click on something you might want to compress, a menu will appear. One of your choices should be to compress the file.
Hope it helps!
