How do I reset my computer of its memory?
March 22nd, 2007 | by computermemory |UnAmanteLoco asked:
I bought a great computer a few years ago, but now because of all the software I’ve installed and uninstalled along with a huge number of files I don’t use anymore it is running insanely slow. I would like to know if it is possible to reset the memory or something, so that it runs like it ran when I bought it. And if so, how to do it.

BEST CHANCE IS TO REFORMAT OR GO THROUGH EVERY FOLDER THAT YOU DONT USE AND DELETE THEM!
ALSO, GET RID OF PROGRAMS THAT YOU DONT USE, AND DISABLE THOSE THAT YOU DO USE AND POP UP INTO THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER OF THE SCREEN - IT WILL BOOT UR COMPUTER FASTER AND WOULD TAKE LESS TIME LOADING WHEN YOU START UR COMPUTER

You want to re-install the operating system. During that process all of the data on your hard drive will be rendered unusable (basically deleted) and your computer will be like its brand new. A new untouched copy of the OS will be running and it should be running as fast as the day you bought it. However, you have to either buy a new copy of the OS or find someone that has a copy. I would recommend searching a few Bittorrrent trackers for a copy of XP or something. Try thepiratebay.org or mininova.org. Depending on the origin of your computer, you might actually have a copy of the OS that came with it. The only downside to this is that you have to find and re-install any system drivers you lose.
