How much should I pay for computer memory?

I don’t know how much I need. If you can just give me a ballpark figure that would be helpful.

My friend tells me I need more memory because my pc is using XP and doesn’t have the adequate memory, which is why it is running slow.
THANKS!

1 gig will be more than sufficient, about $60 U.S.
If your playing games on the pc, you can get 2 gigs for under $100

That all depend on what computer you have, the motherboard and the processor it has, each one is only able to handle so much memory.

It really depends on what type, speed and capacity the memory you’re looking for is.
There are numerous types of computer memory and they are fairly specific to your computer. Be sure the memory you purchase is compatible with your computer hardware!
I’d look at a sites like memory.com or crucial.com where you can search by PC model/brand & receive prices on the correct type of memory. Those sites might not have the best price but once you know the type of memory your computer uses you can take that information to a site like newegg.com and purchase the right stuff from them.
A gigabyte of DDR2 533 should be around 30-40 dollars
and
a gigabyte of DDR 333 is around 50-60 dollars
Hope that helps some!

If i was to look for a cheap reasonable ram, i would look at the prive, if its ranged from 20 dollars to 50…i would buy it
and it depends on what kind of Bank you have on your motherboard.. u have to make sure it has the right pins for it..
and the size…on mines is DDR..
