I recommend a free scan of the computer at Crucial. Not only will say how much and what type of memory (RAM) the computer has installed, it will tell you how much more and of what type can be add per slot.

Newegg.com is about the cheapest you will find, with Tigerdirect.com in second. I have ordered from both and you get the stuff quick and they have good service too, if you would have a problem.
