Would 512 MB of computer memory be found on a desktop or laptop?
February 6th, 2008 | by computermemory |blckmustng2002 asked:
I got this new computer program to add to my laptop but there wasn’t enough memory on my laptop to handle the program so I am stuck with it. The program is just the Fly Pen applications. My laptop needs more memory. So how would go about it?
Would I go about adding 512 mb of memory to a laptop computer? Or would I have to buy a new laptop that may already have that memory amount?
It’s a Compaq Presario that I purchased in 2005.

All you have to do is upgrade it. Unfortunately laptops are harder to configure due to it’s size, but you just either replace the old RAM with new memory or add more in (if there are 4 slots, depending on how old the laptop is). Also, there are different memory for Laptops and Desktops. Make sure you get a Laptop one.

adding RAM would be much cheaper than getting a new laptop

If theres an extra slot or if you want just go out and buy 1GB of RAM.
That should hold ya down.

its gonna depend. your laptop may only support so much memory depending on how new it is. if it can support more, just make sure you buy the right size for laptops and the right type or RAM

different models of laptops/desktops have different memory options/capacities. Try or and enter your Brand, Make and Model to see what the device can accommodate. Also check your software for minimum and recommended configurations. Power off he device before opening the case to add memory. Ground yourself prior to installing memory. Good luck.

There isn’t really a need for you to go ahead and shell out loads of money, when all you need to do is get some good memory. :]
Here’s a good place to get laptop memory, but you need to create an account with a credit card to do it. But I assure you, as will thousands on the site, that this company is RELIABLE :] I’m a proud customer.
You still have to find out the specs on the memory to get the right kind though. But only you can do that, nobody here can do that for you :[

Your best bet would be to check your laptop’s manual or contact the manufacturer. Changing RAM in Laptops is not as easy as in PC’s.
