You will see amazing improvements. Your Internet will run faster, as well as your whole computer’s speed will be faster.

You mean from 256MB to 512 MB. You will see much better results, depending on your processor. The two work hand-in-hand. Programs will open quicker, respond quicker, yada yada.

Increasing RAM will improve start-up times, as well as the overall performance of all programs. Everything will work quicker. But you really should upgrade to at least 1GB to see major improvements.

Well, if you’ve only got 512k you must be living back in the early 80s. These days we measure RAM in megabytes, rather than kilobytes. And, there are a lot of other factors that would need to be disclosed before I can tell you how much of a performance boost you’d get from that. But with the state of things these days, 512 isn’t likely to get you much better.

well not to 512k but 512mb and with that little ram i would guess you would be able to see a big difference. basically in lamen terms the ram (random access memory) speeds up the info thats sent to your cpu

As far as RAM goes, you are wanting to upgrade to 512 MB (megabytes or millions of bytes) not 512k (kilobytes or thousands of bytes)
You will notice the ability of your computer to run programs more easily without having to use slower resources (like your hard drive aka “virtual memory”). Programs will open a little faster and you can run more of them. Your computer may be less bogged down when you have programs running in the background like a firewall or antivirus.

Every program that you have on your computer takes up memory. When you have less available memory, your computer will start slowing down. I don’t know any technical reasons!

It should run faster. RAM is the operating space for a program to run in. DSL will show the most speed but high RAM improve overall performance.
