Thomas asked:

I recently purchased Flight Simulator X, only to find out my computer is below the reccomended specs for memory. How can I make my computer have more memory? I just called Geek Squad and they said that it would cost more than $100 just for the memory itself. I barely had enough money for the 60 dollar game…

    Upgrading RAM is easy:

    1. Go to and enter what kind of PC you have

    2. Take note of the kind of RAM it recommends. It usually goes something like DDR PCXXXX (for example, DDR PC3200)

    3. Go to a store that sells RAM (Like Best Buy, Fry’s Electronics, etc), and tell them what kind of RAM you need and how much you need. For this game you’ll need 1GB mininum (more would be ideal), so if your PC has 512MB of RAM already, buy another 512MB or 1GB RAM stick. Or you could take out your old RAM and buy a 1- or 2GB stick).

    4. Open up your PC case and look on the motherboard for your RAM slots. They look like this:

    5. Insert your new RAM stick(s). It should go in real easy (if you have to force it then you’re doing it wrong).

    6. Close your case back up and start your computer. It should start up without a hassle. But if you do run into issues, just ask an employee at the store you bought it from.
